EMMA GALE
  • Emma Gale is an Australian artist who lives in northern NSW. She derives much inspiration from her travels and other cultures, and their daily rituals and routines. She captures the colour, vibrancy, atmosphere, and spirit of her subjects, and playfully re-creates an upbeat atmosphere and sense of place.

In 1990, she established the Tukul Craft Workshop in Cairo, a non-profit organisation set up to train Sudanese refugees with techniques and skills in textile screen printing and design. She returned to Australia a few years later to study graphic design.

In 2019, Gale returned to Ethiopia with Create Impact, an NGO working hand-in-hand with remote communities in Ethiopia to provide education, water, and health care projects. She works to travel, and endeavours to help and bring attention to the plight of those less fortunate.
